African Documentaries Among Oscar Nominees

At the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills early this week, actors Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid announced the 96th Academy Awards nominations. They came with some surprises mixed in with some slights. Africa produced two of the nominated documentaries, including Bobi Wine: The People’s President from Uganda. The documentary centers on Bobi Wine, a musician who is now running for president in Uganda, where he is facing off against incumbent President Yoweri Museveni.
