Out of 80, 000 some 50,000 women or 58 per cent of them were killed by intimate partners or family members which means that every day around 170 women being killed by their loved ones world wide according to new study published by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on the occasion of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
According to the study, around 20,000 women killed in Asia the highest by the family members or intimate partners in 2017 followed by Africa which is around 19,000, United States of America( 8,000), Europe ( 3,000) and Oceania ( 300).
UNODC study shows that in Africa two thirds of the total number were killed by their intimate partners or family members on the other hand in Europe more than one third women were killed by their intimate partners or family members.
