On July 18, India will elect a new president.4,800 MPs and MLAs will vote to choose India’s 15th president. The Presidential college, which consists of elected members of both Houses of parliament, chooses its president. Members of the legislatures of states, including the Union Territory of Pondicherry and the National Capital Territory of Delhi, are elected. Voting is not permitted for nominees.
