According to Zambian officials, this year’s worst floods in 50 years, which started about four weeks ago, has rendered close to 400,000 people homeless. Tens of thousands of homes were flooded and people were forced to live in makeshift shelters as a result of heavy rains that started a month earlier and caused rivers to overflow their banks.
