It is expected that the long-awaited commencement date, which had been postponed multiple times, will ease the burden that riders face in the state of 20 million people. Lagos is now known worldwide for its chaotic and often frustrating congestion. Local resident Temitope Omololu-Runsewe, who had an opportunity to ride on the train, said the ride “was a very smooth experience.”
