Polling stations have opened in Kazakhstan’s presidential election as interim leader Qasym-Zhomart Toqaev looks set to continue in the presidential post.Toqaev was the chosen successor of autocratic President Nursultan Nazarbaev when he stepped down on March 19 after nearly 30 years.
Here, a report where Kazakhstan’s ruling Nur Otan party held a forum in Nur-Sultan on June 7 in support of its presidential candidate, interim Qasym-Zhomart Toqaev. The event was attended by both Toqaev and former President and party leader Nursultan Nazarbaev, as well as by many students.
