A man was arrested for domestic violence yesterday, March 14, by the Loures Division of the Public Security Police, in Santa Iria da Azóia, in the municipality of Loures, in the district of Lisbon, in Portugal. The victim, because of the severity of the burns to which she was subjected, needed medical care.
“After a call that indicated that a situation of domestic violence was taking place in a residence in Santa Iria da Azóia, the police immediately went to the place and, after becoming aware of the facts, proceeded to arrest the suspect.
The suspect was found to have poured alcohol on the victim and then set him on fire with a lighter. The victim had burns and there was a need to be transported to the hospital, however, there were no serious injuries to the hospital”, revealed the Lisbon Metropolitan Police Command of the Public Security Police, which, through the Loures Police Division, proceeded with this act of detention of this 68-year-old aggressor, caught in the act, the individual was arrested and taken to the police station for the practice of the crime of domestic violence.
The suspect ended up present at the first judicial interrogation at the Judicial Court of the District of Loures and the most severe coercion measure was applied to him for the facts found. The defendant was placed in preventive detention.
